Collaboraction Theatre company re-located its offices and performance space to the Flat Iron Arts Building in early fall of 2010. Collaboraction is a company of creative people organized as a non-profit corporation which acts as the hub of a large and fluid Chicago-based artistic community to create unique artistic experiences through theater and multidisciplinary collaboration in order to celebrate the human spirit. Collaboraction celebrates its 15th year as a Chicago-based arts organization and remains focused on becoming a national leader of contemporary theater.
Collaboraction has extended its current productions due to popular demand, “SKETCHBOOK Reverb” and “200 Funny Things”. “Reverb” is a compilation of the best work from the past 10 years of the annual SKETCHBOOK Festival. Condensing the vivacious and provocative energy of the multimedia festival into a more intimate space, “Reverb” remounts and re-envisions profound works from such acclaimed playwrights as Ellen Fairey, Keith Huff and Lisa Dillman. For “200 Funny Things,” innovative director Steven Ivcich creates an improv loony bin in which an intrepid ensemble of actors has 60 minutes to cop 200 laughs from scratch. No script, no premise, no plan. Both shows have been extended through May 21, a double feature every Saturday starting at 8:00 PM.
